The Griffin's Aerie

a little about me and a little more about chainmaille

New Year, New You? New Website, Anyway!

If there’s one thing I’ve been hearing a lot this January, it’s “New year, new you!” Here at The Silvered Griffin, we’re not quite there. But what we do have is a new web site! Head over the and take a look. There are new photo galleries, new product links, and new information.

Post MAGFest13 Update

Getting to work on all of the custom orders from #MAGFest13! If you put an order in, you should get an email from me soon with an update. The Etsy shop will be closed a little longer so I can figure out what inventory I actually have left. In the meantime, look at some shinies!

I got some new display items this year and I changed around how I set up my table at conventions. I am very happy with how this turned out! I think I’ll be continuing with this layout in the future.

Elemental Leaves - Fire

I need to take a better photo of this, just as soon as I make another one. First one sold at MAGFest in January.

Dodecahedron key chain bauble

Here’s my new dodecahedron key chain. This twelve-sided bauble is an excellent conversation piece or the perfect gift for the table-top gamer in your life!

Every single ring in this intricate dodecahedron is individually opened and gently hand woven into this pattern. The charm itself is about one inch by one inch and hangs from a standard keychain split ring. It’s made with bright aluminum and jeweler’s brass. Over time, the brass will tarnish while the aluminum stays shiny, giving this unique keychain a contrasting look that will continue to change!

I’m excited about how these little guys turned out, since I’d been wanting to learn this pattern for a while. I also think it’s nice to have a new trinket in the shop that isn’t specifically a piece of jewelry. What do you think of it? Would you want something like this on your key ring? What other colors would you like to see?

Dragon Sculpture from

Dragon 031 Copy – Chainmail Sculpture – Gallery – TheRingLord.

Ok, this is a pretty awesome dragon sculpture. Art from chainmaille–gotta love it.

Welcome to my other little corner of the web. As a maille artisan, I make unique jewelry and accessories using varying metals and beads, in a style known as chainmaille. Check out the links to the right to learn more about me and my work.

I hope to use this area as a place to share my thoughts, new projects, and other random tidbits as I begin my journey of turning my hobby and passion into a business.

Thank you for stopping by!
